Revenge of the Sith in Digital

Bob FranquizUncategorized

On my vacation to Orlando, I saw Star Wars:Episode III in full digital.  Let me say, it’s like watching a totally different movie.  There were only 3 theaters in Florida showing the movie in its’ full digital form, but the AMC at Downtown Disney was one of them.  If you have a theater near you showing it, check it out. It’s amazing!  Here is a listing the theatres showing it in digital.

Name that Movie

“You’re mine Bender. For 2 months I’ve gotcha!” It’s almost too easy, but I want to pay respect to one of the best High School movies ever made! Remember: No outside sources other than your mind. Also, not many have dared to take on the challenge of movie trivia from Friday. 2 have tried and both have gotten it wrong… Enjoy!

I forgot to give props…

Bob FranquizUncategorized

I forgot to give props to my beautiful and ever-creative wife, Carey who designed my blog logo. Being the cereal fanatic that I am, she created this “Alphabits-esque” bobfranquiz.com logo that I love. I hope you like it too. I was waiting to say something because when I put it up, only Macs could see it. (PC with problems…second verse, same as the first) But I checked a PC yesterday and it was visible. Anyway, I hope you like the logo. I love it and I love my wife for being an amazing, creative genius! (Ca-ching – that was the … Read More

Book review: God is closer than You Think

Bob FranquizUncategorized

Last week I finished reading John Ortberg’s new book, “God is closer than you think.” I’m going to give this book 2 major thumbs up! There are times I’ve read a book at the right time and it totally blesses me. Well, this is one of those times. I spent a couple of months in a dry season and this book totally got me juiced up again. The word pictures John paints using famous the masterpiece “The Creation of Adam” and then the funny drawings of Waldo in the “Where’s Waldo?” books have given me a new perspective on how … Read More

Movie Trivia

Bob FranquizUncategorized

In the spirit of always wanting to create totally useless things to amuse, I’ve decided to do a weekly movie trivia post that will be sure to expand your horizons of useless information. As always, there are no prizes to be won (Except for the pride that one feels your mind is as filled with nonsense as mine is) and no outside resources (Outside of your own twisted mind) can be referenced. Here goes: In 1977, what was Alec Guiness’ (Obi-Wan Kenobi) major complaint while filming Star Wars: a New Hope? Was it… a) He wanted to play Darth Vader … Read More

It’s Raining…Pee!

Bob FranquizUncategorized

No, you didn’t read that wrong! In our office yesterday, our Youth and worship Pastor Mark found that it was raining urine in his office. (Just think about that for a moment) Apparently, the bathroom on the second floor had a pipe break. Anyhow, the leak (No pun intended) has been fixed and everything is OK. I wrote this because no matter how bad of a day you’re having, it’s probably not raining pee in your office. Aren’t you relieved? (Another bad pun) Have a great day!

Top 5 communicators who have Influenced Me

Bob FranquizUncategorized

Since last week I talked about the books that have most influenced me, I decided to have this week’s top 5 be the 5 communicators who have influenced my communicating…  #5 – Ed Young – I remember hearing Ed for the first time.  I was taken back by how relevant the message was to everyone in the room.  I still talk about "The Chairs" or different types of people in different circumstances of life that we preach to each weekend.  That’s a common phrase in our office.  His use of visuals and video has changed the way I communicate.  Major … Read More
