– Today was great! I didn’t teach 🙂 – John did a great job of teaching on the Last Supper and asking the question, “Is it I?” – Communion is always a special time. I loved it. – It was really good to walk around and check some areas of the church I don’t get to see very often. We call it MBWA. – I was great to talk to some servants in out church I don’t see very often and see how they’re doing – Everyone was asking me about the Patriots. Yes it was glorious! But there’s work … Read More

Book Review: Eat That Frog!

Bob FranquizBooks

Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy gives us 21 ways to stop procrastinating and start getting things done. I don’t consider myself a procrastinator, but I am huge fan of efficiency and working smart, so I love reading on this subject. I’m always looking for tips to be more effective. The truth is that we all have limited time. Our goal should be to get the most important things done (The frogs) and delete or delegate the rest. I found the book helpful. This is a great read if you’re looking for something quick that can get you going in … Read More

Questions to Prepare for 2008

Bob FranquizUncategorized

I am very big on goal setting and planning. So I thought I’d post some of the questions I’m asking myself as we inch closer to 2008. 1. How can I be a better follower of Jesus, husband, dad, and friend in 2008? 2. How can I be a more faithful Pastor and leader in 2008? 3. Where do I want my time to go in 2008? 4. Am I doing things that either need to be delegated or deleted? 5. Am I planning to take a Sabbath every week? 6. How am I going to take care of myself … Read More

Sunday Thoughts

– Today had to be the weirdest day for me – I woke up at 3:30AM and couldn’t fall back asleep. So I got an early start and worked on my message – Then my dad called me and told me my uncle died. I was closer to him than any of my other uncles. Needless to say, it was a rough morning for me. – The new service times went really well. It worked well to add some people to our first service and open up seats in our later service. – Our band rocked out some Christmas carols. … Read More

Book Review: Moneyball

Bob FranquizBooks

I’ve had this book of my list of books to read for 3 years. I’ve hesitated posting this review because I haven’t stopped thinking about this book since I read it. Moneyball by Michael Lewis is a great book about the Oakland A’s and Billy Beane their general manager. It’s their story of how they compete and succeed in a market where players make millions of dollars which they cannot pay. So they have to find alternate ways of getting quality players to compete. It’s a great book if you’re a baseball fan and an interesting read if you’re a … Read More

Sunday Night Thoughts (Monday Edition)

Bob FranquizUncategorized

– Sunday was amazing! I talk another very un-Christmas message and we had a packed house. – I almost called the message, “Satan, the Anti-Christ and You!”, but thought that might be over the top 🙂 – We usually flatline attendance wise for December, but we’re seeing a nice upward trend – Teaching on Hanukkah in part of my message was a lot of fun. I love telling that story. – Tons of first time guests today. Our Ten Minute Party was slammed! We ran out of gifts for people and had to scramble to get more together! – This … Read More
