I've been light on the blogging for many reasons that I will talk about later, but one of the things I've been doing this week is reviewing 2008. Personally, 2008 was one of my best years yet. I believe what causes next year to be better than the last is to take time to review what transpired over the last 12 months. God has been so good to me and I don't want to be ungrateful by forgetting or not taking the time to reflect on His goodness and grace in my life. I set 22 major goals in … Read More
Book Review: Great Employees Only
I read the executive summary of Great Employees Only and decide since the summary was so good, I should buy the book. I’m glad I did. This was a really good book and an interesting view of leadership. Dauten’s premise is that employers should spend 90% of their time hiring, 10% de-hiring and 0% managing. The idea is, when you hire stars you don’t have to manage them. You simply have to let them loose. I tend to agree, unless you’re hiring a diamond in the rough of course. The book is 48 short chapters (which you know I love) … Read More
Update from the Road
I’m writing from my vacation just to say that we all need breaks. I’m having a great time with my wife and my daughter. I’ve taken a nap every day I’ve been gone. It feels good 🙂 I have been doing some writing as I’m trying to finish writing my next book. I should be done by Thanksgiving. More details on that later. Also, I’ve read some good books while on vacation. I’ll post some reviews next week. I’m looking forward to teaching this weekend on the subject of trusting God. I’m going to be talking about how to navigate … Read More

How do I know I have an 8 month old?
Because when I quiet my mind, this is what I hear… “We’re going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship Zooming through the sky… Little Einsteins Climb aboard, get ready to explore There’s so much to find, Little Einsteins. We’re going on a mission, start the countdown 5, 4, 3,2,1 Everyone to rocket, rev it up now RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR We’re going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship Zooming through the sky, Little Einsteins Climb aboard, get ready to explore There’s so much to find, Little Einsteins Come On – Let’s Go – Little Einsteins We need you, Little … Read More

End of Vacation Thoughts…
We’re flying home today. I’ve got a few things on my mind… – I’m sad to be leaving my family in Boston. I always have a great time with them. But they’re coming to Florida in a couple of weeks, so we’ll see each other soon. – I’m excited to get back to work. This was a much needed break, but I’m ready to get back in the saddle. – I’ve learned a lot about pace and priorities this week. – I bought my yearly supply of Red Sox gear while I in Boston. – I hate flying! I wish … Read More
America’s Most Beloved Ballpark
It had been 14 years, 2 weeks, and 2 days since the last time I had been to Fenway Park. But last night my nephew and I went to see my beloved Red Sox. They lost 7-1, but it was great to be there. It was colder than I can even describe. It was like 45 degrees with the wind chill. Hot dogs, italian sausages, pretzels, and peanuts were free flowing. Sox tickets are sold out months in advance, but we ventured out and met a guy who was selling his season tickets. So we got box seats for face … Read More
It’s June…Where’s My Sweatshirt?
Seriously…it’s cold!!! My Miami blood isn’t built for this kind of cold anymore! Despite the arctic weather, Carey, Mia, and I spent the day at Faneuil Hall in Downtown Boston. No joke…it’s 50 degrees outside. Mia got a Wally the Green Monster from Build-a-Bear. They only sell Wally’s in Boston. He’s sporting his Red Sox gear and he plays “Take me out to the ballgame”. Had the best clam chowder ever here. Also, the cheesesteak I had was out of hand! I wanted to bring a little bathing suit for Mia. Carey brought warm clothes. She’s the smart one…
Calvary Fellowship Pictorial…
I showed a bunch of pictures of our environment at my pre-conference intensive at the National New Church Conference and those that attended asked if there was a way to get these pics. So here they are. We’re getting better at remembering to take pictures, so these photo albums should increase in coming months. Enjoy…
