Bob FranquizChurch

For those that are coming to the Assimilation seminar here in Miami, I just found out that the first 10 people to register get a free copy of Fusion. It just makes sense to register now and save some $$$. On your marks, get set, go!!!

The stories never get old…

Bob FranquizChurch

We did our first baptism of the year on Thursday night and we baptized 21 people! It was amazing to hear the stories of those who went into the water. In case you weren’t aware, Jesus is alive and well! He working in the hearts and lives of people all around us. One story that really moved me involved a girl who got baptized after coming to know Jesus a couple of months ago. What moved me was that the friend who brought her told me about her 2 years ago! She had been praying for her, and inviting her … Read More

Top 10 Things I learned in New York City

Bob FranquizChurch

There was plenty I learned while in New York last week, but here are a few of the highlights… 1. There are so many thing vying for people’s attention (Times Square was the epitome of that) 2. For 80% of Christians, Membership in a church is the last step in spiritual growth they take 3. “Creativity is having an idea/ Innovation is putting it into practice” 4. The most important question to answer is “because”, not just “why” 5. You can’t have to many signs 6. Finding a seat is what makes people feel most anxious (think first day of … Read More

Assimilation Seminar

Bob FranquizChurch

Just wanted to put this on your radar: we’re going to be hosting an assimilation seminar on March 6th. We’re really excited about this. We’ve been very influenced by what Nelson Searcy and The Journey have done with following up with first time guests, so we’re excited to be able to let other churches experience what we have learned. I think the timing of this seminar is great because it’s just before Easter and gives you some time to put some things in place so that those that God brings to your church, you can effectively follow up with. You … Read More

The Big Apple

It’s great to be back! I’ve been in New York all week attending a seminar and doing some teaching. I’ll pack all my learnings in the next few days. But I will say this: – I missed my girls very much! – New York is an amazing city (This is a Red Sox fan talking)! – Carmine’s had the best Italian feed I’ve ever tasted! – Mark and John were on Good Morning America! – Airplanes a great place to get major reading done. – The Journey is a great church! – The weather was amazing! – It’s good to … Read More

Special Guest

Just wanted to put this on radar: On January 27th we’re going to have Sy Rogers at Calvary Fellowship! Sy has a radical story of coming out of a gay lifestyle and how God has transformed his life! This is an event you want to tell everyone you know, strap them to the roof of your car if you have to, and get them to church! Sy not only tells his story, but he also shares with churches how we can minister to those living a gay lifestyle. The church’s reputation is one of gay bashing and hating. I want … Read More

Sunday Thoughts… (Monday Edition)

Bob FranquizChurch

– Today was great! The place was jam packed! – I taught a very Un-Christmas message on Mark 13. Nothing like a message on the end of the world at Christmastime:) Funny enough, I talked to a bunch of first time guests who told me they loved it. Lots of people made first time decisions to follow Jesus (stats forthcoming) – I was so exhausted after Sunday. It wasn’t so much the services, it was my sister-in-law having a baby and us watching her 2 kids while she was in the hospital. 3 kids going nuts in my house was … Read More

Wisdom

Bob FranquizChurch

I spent the day in meetings and once again I am always blown away by the guys that God has put in my life. Leaders who don’t have other leaders speaking into their lives are dead in the water. Yet guys who are open to receiving instruction have a much higher ceiling (memorize this verse). I think this is one of the lessons church planters need to learn: stop talking about how awesome you/ your vision/ your idea are and listen to people who are older and wiser than you! Here’s a truth you need to know: all the stuff … Read More
