Top 33 Mistakes Part 1

Bob FranquizLeadership

Our church’s 5 year anniversary is in 33 days and I’m feeling a bit nostalgic.  So I decided it might be helpful to someone out there if I shared what were the biggest mistakes we have made since we started.  Since I don’t want my self esteem to go into the toilet, I’m also going to write 33 posts about the stuff we did right (if we can think of that many).  What’s amazing is that thinking of the mistakes were a lot easier.  Well, here goes… (By the way, these are in no particular order) #1 – I placed … Read More

Double your pleasure…Double your fun…

Bob FranquizChurch

One of the things I forgot to mention about this weekend’s service is that we are going to 2 services starting September 18 (That’s our 5 year anniversary). I can’t believe it’s almost been 5 years. But our new service times will be 9:30AM & 11:00AM. This transition should be pretty easy since we’ve been preparing for it for a while. We just need to make sure that we end on time, which we have gotten much better at. But it’s an exciting time for us and I believe this is going to open up some new opportunities to reach … Read More

Book Review: The Tipping Point

Bob FranquizUncategorized

I just got done reading (Actually listening) to "the Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell.  The book was great.  The book is written for business and marketing leaders but the applications for church leaders are great as well.  What causes some churches to explode with growth and others to stagnate?  How can 2 churches have a similar style of ministry and get totally different results?  The answer according to Gladwell is 3 key issues: context, presentation, and people. Here’s a couple of take aways I got: Context is the world we live in.  What is the context that people see, feel, … Read More

The Names have been changed…

Bob FranquizChurch

Well, we unveiled the new name and logo today.  It was great!  People just went nuts over it!  "Whatever it takes" was the title of the message and we talked about being sacrificial in our giving to get into our new facility.  People were very open to the message and were up to the challenge.  I pastor the most amazing church ever!  If you’re interested, the message is up.  You can download the mp3 here…

The Boiling Point!

Bob FranquizChurch

I’m working on my message for Sunday and I’m losing my mind I’m so excited about all that God wants to do on Sunday. If you’re a CCML regular, do “Whatever it Takes” to be there. You won’t regret it!

You read it here first!  According to my sources (The Boston Globe), the Red Sox will play a 3 game series during interleague play at Dolphin Stadium (10 minutes from my house) on June 30-July 2.  If anyone is interested as to where I will be ALL THREE DAYS, you can find me there.  I can’t wait!  There’s only 11 months to go!  Go Sox!!!!

The Stages of Church Members

Bob FranquizChurch

Dan Kimball has an amazing post about the 10 stages of church members and their relationship to the local church (Thanks Jason).  Thank God not everyone goes through this (Or I would have ended up in the ‘HaHa’ house long ago), but it’s so accurate with some.   Read it here… Let me know what you think.

Help a Brotha out!

Bob FranquizChurch

We’re looking to do a redesign of our church website. So I’m asking for your help. I’d like to know what you think the best websites on the web are (Church or not). I’d like to check them out and get some ideas. I appreciate the feedback…

Top 5 Baseball Movies of All-Time!

Bob FranquizUncategorized

I have a theory…that there has never been a bad baseball movie.  So I decided to share my top 5 favorite baseball movies of all-time: #5 – Mr. Baseball (I’m a huge Tom Selleck fan!)  #4 – Major League (How can you not love Willie Mays Hayes and crew?) #3 – Field of Dreams  ("If you build it, they will come" – One of the most classic movie lines ever!)  #2 – The Natural (It’s hard to put this movie at number 2 because I’ve never been able to watch this movie and not cry. Roy Hobbs is one of … Read More

I’m so excited…and I just can’t hide it!

Bob FranquizChurch

As you’re wondering who sang that song (The Pointer Sisters by the way), I am so excited abut this weekend’s message at CCML. I’m teaching a message called, “Whatever it Takes” as we talk about the future of our church and the amazing opportunities that are before us. So I’m excited about finishing up that message. Also, we’re planning a brand new series called, “Message in a Bottle.” (Will we play the song? Who knows?) But I’m really looking forward to what’s in store. I’m so glad to be the Pastor of this church!
