If you’re interested in buying a home, a great place in Downtown Boston has just come on the market. Just blocks away from Fenway Park, Manny Ramirez, Boston Red Sox leftfielder and 2004 World Series MVP has decided to sell his crib. It’s a 4,500 SF penthouse pad atop of the Boston Ritz-Carlton hotel. Asking price: $6,900,000. You can see the place here and get a virtual tour. So this is what 20 million a year buys you!
Book Review: God’s blogs
Download images.jpg I just finished God’s Blogs by Lanny Donoho, co-host of the Catalyst conference and founder of Big Stuf camps. I picked up the book because my buddy Mark took our youth to Big Stuf this year and loved it. Everyone who read the book thought it was fantastic (Lanny’s God’s blogs pants at Catalyst were a nice touch). But the book was fantastic! Easy enough so a 5th grader could totally understand it and deep enough to make any adult really think about some serious “Life” stuff. I encourage you to read it, you won’t regret it.
Great Elements Review!
Ben Arment (who has a great blog by the way) was kind enough to review my book "Elements" and share some of his thoughts about the book. You can read the review here or buy the book here. If you’re still not sure, you can download the introduction and get a feel for the book here. If you read the book, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it…
10 Tips for church planters
First off: if you’re not reading Mark Batterson’s blog – you’re missing the boat. This guy is always writing challenging stuff. Secondly, this post about 10 tips for church planters is great. I totally needed to read this. Enjoy…

Why is a Pastor’s life so weird?
I’ve come to the conclusion that Pastors live weird lives. Why do I say this? Because most of the Pastors I know have weird stuff happen to them all the time. I feel like Ezekiel at times. God had that poor guy go through so much crazy stuff simply to illustrate what God was going to do. That’s what happens to us as well. I find that every time I’m preparing a message and I can’t find a good way to illustrate something, God always helps me out by allowing me to get into some kind of bizzare situation. That’s … Read More
Church Planter or Church Planted?
John over at planterblogs.com (which is a really cool concept by the way) asked me a question about when a church ceases to be a church plant and just becomes a church. I’ve blogged about this before, but I want to offer a new idea to the mix and see if I’m a heretic or not. Here’s my latest theory: Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Greg Laurie, etc… – all of these guys planted their churches that are now 30 years old and I think we can agree that their churches are no longer church plants. They are established ministries that … Read More
Birthday Girl!
Today is Carey’s Birthday (That’s my wife for those just joining us)! She would never make a big deal out of it, but if you get a chance, could you go on her blog and wish her a happy birthday. I would appreciate it. I love you sweetheart!
A new friend…the ipod video
Last night I took all my birthday money and the gift certificates that some friends got me and I went to the Apple store and got the new ipod video. It is totally amazing! I haven’t downloaded a video yet, but I’m hoping to do so shortly. I bought the 30 gig because it’s not bulky like the 60 gig. This thing rules! I sold my old ipod to a new church planter in our area, so I’ve been without one for a couple of weeks. But now a new friend has arrived. Life is good…
What a Week!
To say this week has been crazy would be the understatement of the year! Hurricane Wilma hit us pretty hard and of course I didn’t prepare at all! We had no food in the house (in our defense, we were in the process of moving), no gas in the cars, and no shutters on the windows. But God got us through it. We stayed at Jason’s house (our children’s Pastor) and ate burgers and hot dogs EVERY DAY for 5 days. I don’t know if I will ever eat a hot dog again after eating a dozen dogs in less … Read More
