On this day in 1997, I said my vows before God and man to the greatest woman on earth. Next to following Jesus, marrying Carey is the best decision I have ever made. (How I talked her into it, I still haven’t figured out) Carey and I both come from divorced families, so the fact that we have not only survived marriage but love each other deeply is a testament to God’s grace. It has been the 10 best years of my life. I’m looking forward to the next 10!
5 Days into it…
Mia is 5 days old, and I’ve had so many thoughts going through my mind. Here’s a couple of thoughts on being a dad, now that I’m 5 days into it… – My love has multiplied. I am madly in love with my wife and I wondered if I could love anyone else that much. I’ve learned that I can. There’s something funny about love. The more you love, the more love grows. Had a great meeting this afternoon with Matt Mahaffey, a student Pastor from Indy that wants to plant a church in South Florida. Matt’s a sharp guy with a heart for this area. I’m glad he met with Travis, who’s getting it done in Homestead. Plus, Matt’s coming to the National New Church Conference in April and is going to check out my pre-conference workshop on portable churches. I love talking shop.
