Dwight Schrute, from The office will call your phone and harass you at random when you’ve got nothing better to do. Beyond the First Visit Review
I saw that Ben was recommending Beyond the First Visit by Gary McIntosh and I decided to pick it up. I really enjoyed it. The book is basically about how to connect people to your church once they’ve visited. I found some of the ideas dated, but there was enough fresh stuff that caused to take notes and think through our processes. Some Pastors I talk to, speak as though planning is unspiritual. Today the MLB post-season begins. I’m still getting over the absolute collapse that was the Red Sox second half this season. Great Compliment
We had a journalism student from FIU visit our church last night (By the way, Sunday night is completely rockin’) and shoot some video for her project. Her cousin attends our church and she decided to do her project on Calvary Fellowship and the amount of young people we have attending. She interviewed a bunch of people from the church and shot some of the worship and message. But my favorite quote of the night was when she said, “This feels like a party!” A lot of churches I’ve been to feel like a funeral, this was a great compliment!

Besides the conference we’re doing in March, we put up a blog that’s going to discuss how we do things in our portable settings. The link is here.
