#9 – Everyone’s life doesn’t revolve around church
I didn’t realize that fact for a long time. What I thought was that if I could get people into church enough times a week that I would have mature believers who could reach the world. Right? Wrong! If you keep people in church every night, they aren’t going to reach anyone because they don’t have time to reach out. People have lives outside of church. This was a hard thing for me to take because church is such a big part of my life. I am always thinking about it and I just figured that everyone else was too. For the average person, church is a part of their lives but not not all of it. They love God and love the church, but they go to work and are thinking about a million other things. And that’s OK. Our job is to give them only the best opportunities to be involved in at church and then let them be involved in the lives of those who don’t know Jesus. It’s so subtle and seemingly spiritual to get Christians busy, but I believe it hurts them and the cause of the kingdom.
