How We Do Staff Meetings

Bob FranquizChurch

After posting about our all-staff meeting, I got a couple of emails about how we do staff meetings at CF, so I thought I’d let you all know if you’re interested.

So here’s a basic order:

Open in prayer

Devotional

Review Sunday (We ask 4 questions: What went right? What went wrong? What was missing? What was confusing?) We answer each question and a name gets assigned to each wrong, missing or confusing issue to be taken care of that week. This is also where we tell stories about the great things that God did over the last week.

Review book (I assign a book for each staff member to read – I ask each staff member to share what they’ve learned in the book, how it applies to their area of ministry, etc…) When we talk books, I forego the devotional because this makes the meeting too long.

Agendas (Everyone bring their own list of things to discuss, so we just go around the room and discuss whatever they have brought to the table.

Close in prayer

That’s pretty much it.

Couple of other things:
– Our meetings run about 2 hours
– We meet on Tuesday mornings

I’d love to hear how some of you Pastors out there are running your staff meeting. It would be great to compare notes and learn from each other.
