We’ve had over 100 people pray to start a relationship with Jesus since Easter. We’re pretty excited about that to say the least. But we’ve run into a problem in that we’re not happy with the stuff we’re giving them to help them on the journey. Most of the stuff I’ve read that’s labeled as “New believer” material has too many theological terms that the author doesn’t take the time to define. Theological terms are great. Just define them for those of us who didn’t go to Seminary.
So we decided to write our own booklet that we give to people who pray to receive Christ. The best part is that Tyndale was kind enough to allow us to reproduce the entire Gospel of John in the New Living Translation for the booklet.
Anyway, I’m really excited about this project. The book is done and we haven’t landed on a name (which is totally unlike me), but I’m excited that there’s going to be a resource that we feel comfortable giving people that you don’t need an M.Div to understand. It’s simple, short, easy to read, and to the point.
(By the way, because of our inclusion of the Gospel of John it’s not available for sale – sorry. Those are the rules.)
