I am more excited about this Sunday than any other Sunday in our history. Why? Because this Sunday is my daughter’s baby dedication. I’ve been doing baby dedications for a long time and every time I did one I thought about the day that it would be my baby I was praying for. Well, this Sunday is the day. Carey bought the Mia the most beautiful dress to wear for this occasion. Then we’re having a fiesta at my house to celebrate this day. Lots of family and friends. I’m so excited. I’ve been thinking and praying about what I’m … Read More
Happy Blog-Anniversary!
I realized today at lunch that I started blogging 2 years ago today! So I decided to bring a cake to the party. I have had my love/hate moments with blogging, but the most important thing to me has been getting to know church leaders from all over the country (and world). That’s has been the most rewarding thing.
Papi’s Little Girl…
Seriously, I had no idea that being a dad could produce so much love in a person. Mia is the best. She is so much fun. Plus, she loves baseball! Her and I watch the Red Sox almost nightly and she is totally content to sit next to Papi as I explain to her the nuances of the game. (Carey says if the Pastoring thing doesn’t work out, that I could be a color analyst for a baseball team) Anyway, here’s a picture we took at the mall on Saturday…
Now I want one!
After watching all the hoopla (here, here, here and here) over computer bags lately, I’ve officially gotten the itch to get a bag too. Just great!
Would you Pray…
Would you pray for my friend Bryon’s granddaughter Ali? She’s in the hospital and the situation is serious. You can read the updates here. Thanks.
Guess who’s 12 Weeks Old?
I’m amazed at how my little girl is growing up so fast. She’s holding her head up, laughing all the time, and sleeping 10-11 hours a night (Hallelujah!!!). Being a dad is the best thing in the world!
Idol…Bon Jovi Style
I wish American Idol rocked like this every night! I could do without the Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, and whoever those British people were this season. Blake was out of hand. Carey and I actually rewinded the TiVo to watch it again! This guy is an artist. He’ll have no problem getting a deal once this is over. In fact, the worst thing that could happen to him is that he could win (See: Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks) Phil impressed me. I hope the song wasn’t prophetic 🙂 Lakisha was great. She’s got pipes. I’m not really into that … Read More
Church Planting in 2007…
When we started our church 6 1/2 years ago, there was nothing like NNCC or ChurchPlanters.com for church planters (or at least if there was, I didn’t know about it). This led me to plant CF without having a clue as to what I was doing or having any guidance as to a strategy about launching a church. I had never read a book on church planting because I was told that all this stuff was carnal and all that I needed was the Bible and the Holy Spirit. I know that sounds really spiritual, but that’s like a couple … Read More
ipod Spring Cleaning
I took on a project today that needed to be done: I cleaned out my ipod of stuff that I’m never going to listen to again. I had so many messages/ podcasts that I have downloaded and listened to and so I went through the task of going through them to make room. There’s some things you just aren’t going to listen to over and over. Some got trashed. Others got put on my external drive for future use/ listening. Moral of the story: I’ve got 7GB’s of space open on my 30GB ipod. Plenty of room for new stuff. … Read More
