A Church Growth Lesson from my Atari 2600

Bob FranquizChurch

My hands down, absolute favorite all time Atari game is Pitfall.

It was the coolest game ever.

You swung on vines.

You hopped on the heads of alligators.

You jumped on rolling logs.

The goal?

Get through the jungle and capture all of the treasure before time runs out.

When I started playing Pitfall my brother told me, “Whatever you do, don’t fall into the quicksand.”

Sure enough, staying out of the quicksand was one of the toughest parts of the game.

In similar fashion, I planted my church 11 years ago and staying out of the quicksand that gets churches stuck is one of the toughest things about leading a church.

We got stuck 4 years into our church plant and getting was one of the biggest challenges in my leadership.

It seemed like the more we did to get unstuck the more stuck we got.

It was like the quicksand in Pitfall all over again.

Then we made some radical changes and our church doubled over the next year.

I’ve coached hundreds of churches and seen them implement these same strategies with fantastic results.

So I recorded all of these learnings into a brand new resource called, “Getting Unstuck: Secrets to Avoiding Growth Barriers and Becoming an Unstoppable Church”.

It’s a 5-CD (or downloadable) resource that contains over 3 and a 1/2 hours of practical, nuts and bolts teaching on the skills and strategies it takes to get unstuck and start growing again.

In fact, if you pick up Getting Unstuck in the first 72 hours of release, you can get $50 off this brand new resource. Simply use the coupon code unstuck50

Getting stuck is part of every church’s story… don’t let it become the overarching story of your church.
