I’m Getting old

I’m 31, but I feel like I’m 50. Why? Because all of the music I like is at least 10 years old. I was scanning through my ipod in my car the other day, and 3/4’s of the music is at least a decade old. Why do I feel that makes me an old timer? Because if something is a decade old I think it’s still pretty new. I was driving with our youth Pastor and I was exposing him to the Gospel Gangstas. This is just good west coast Christian rap from ’96. He told me it was good (probably just to be polite) but told me that this was really old. I said, “What are you talking about? 1996 was only 9 years ago. That feels like yesterday.” So I was looking though my ipod and with the exception of my Mp3’s of teachings that I have, everything was from the mid-1990’s or older.

The point is, this is sad. I looked at my wife’s ipod mini and she is not suffering from this issue. Everything she had (with the exception of some Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin) was released since 2000. What does this mean? It means I’m officially old. Well I’ve got to go. It’s almost 4PM. That means dinner time for senior citizens like me…
