Accordance Bible Software

Bob FranquizUncategorized

A question for the Mac guys in the house: Do any of you use Accordance Bible software. I’ve leaning towards making a purchase, but I’d like to hear your thoughts on it. Pros/ Cons? What package do you have? Do you recommend it? Any thoughts on the subject would be really helpful. Gracias…

Why I Love Apple

Bob FranquizUncategorized

Last week my Powerbook turned off and wouldn’t turn on. It was unplugged and running off battery power, so I plugged it in and the computer turned on. After a few tests, I realized the battery was bad. So I went down to my local Apple store here in Miami and sought to get my problem fixed. The line was long at the Genius Bar, so I hung out and made an appointment. Shortly after, I saw the store manager, Brian, whom I had gotten to know from my many trips to the store and he asked what was up … Read More

Amazon Prime

Bob FranquizUncategorized

After placing my most recent amazon.com order today, I started thinking back to the glory days. The days when I had a free trial of amazon prime, the amazing program that gives you free 2-day shipping and $3.99 overnight delivery. But it’s $79 a year and I’m just too cheap to pay that, so when the trial ran out, so did my fun. But here’s what I’m thinking: Amazon Prime should be available for free to all great Amazon.com customers. If you spend a certain amount per year on stuff, you should be rewarded by being given entrance into this … Read More

Going Live…

Bob FranquizUncategorized

We’re doing a redesign of our website that should be up in the next month. One of things that’s important to me is that the website be “Live” when you go live. Too many times we put up a new site 1/2 baked and lose the impact of the new look because of the infamous “under construction” or “Coming soon” text. My advice: don’t change over until your site is done. That way, people won’t miss the old site. They’ll just love the new one.

2 New Podcasts

Bob FranquizUncategorized

There are 2 new Podcasts that I want to tell you about: #1 – The Catalyst Podcast – The 1st episode is an interview with Andy Stanley. #2 – Jack Black’s Nacho Libre Confessional – Jack Back is just a hilarious guy that I jokingly call “my mentor.” The podcast is him talking nonsense about his new movie. It’s about 4 minutes long and it’s funny! itunes is the place to get it…

Hello Nano!

Bob FranquizUncategorized

Yes, I’m loving the look of the new ipod nano. I’m giving my subtle hints ( including this post by the way) about what I want for my birthday (which is in less than a month for those wishing to send a cash gift). I’m looking to upgrade my ipod, but I want to hear from those that actually have one. Please tell me the good, the bad, and the ugly, because I’m very close to putting at the top of my official birthday want list…

Solo…Duo…Treo!!!

Bob FranquizUncategorized

So I finally took the plunge and bought a Treo! So let me give you my review – AWESOME!!!!!!! This thing is out of control. Besides checking the Red Sox score on the web while I was at the Marlins’ game, I used the camera to take the picture you see of the game and I checked my e-mail while I was there too. It’s totally amazing. I can blog on it. It think it does everything except make waffle fries. So get one, you won’t regret it!

Review: Quickverse for Mac

Bob FranquizUncategorized

Well, I waited patiently as Psalm 40 asks me to.  And it finally got here…Quickverse for Mac!  So I opened to packaging it came in.  I installed it and it’s…not that great!  I’m disappointed.  Let me start off by saying that I’m old school Quickverse.  I’ve been using it for about 10 years.  But it just looks like they didn’t really put a lot of effort into it.  What do I mean?  Here is my own version of a FAQ page:  Why is it bad?  Great question.  It’s bad because the program isn’t integrated like the previous versions of Quickverse.  … Read More

Apples, Chips, and Church

Bob FranquizChurch, Leadership

I just got done watching Steve Jobs give his keynote address at the 2005 Worldwide Developers Confrence. Watch it Here  I am amazed at how well he is able to cast the vision  for  the future of Apple.  A couple of things struck me as I watched this address… #1 – He grabbed everyone’s attention – Steve Jobs is not the most dynamic speaker I have ever heard, but his content is so compelling that I was hanging on every word.   It showed me that it isn’t just the best speakers communicators.  It’s the people who have great … Read More
