The 10 Day Rule

With Batman opening this weekend I thought it would be a good time to introduce a new rule to blogging, twittering, facebook, smoke signals and any other form of mass communication. I’m calling it the “10 day rule”. The 10 day rule is as follows: when a movie is released, you can’t reveal details of the movie of the above mentioned forms of communication until 10 days after a movie is released. This allows people who haven’t seen the movie opening weekend to see the film without fear of being told details about a movie they have looked forward to … Read More

Mediocre Movies

Carey and I haven’t been to a movie in quite a while (we’re not boycotting, we just have a little girl at home), but we’ve been renting movies over the last month to catch up on what’s come out. I’ve got to tell you, we’ve been disappointed with what we’ve seen lately. Here are my reviews on the movies that everyone in the known world has seen already: 1. Spider-man – Great message. Not so great of a movie. 2. Fantastic 4 – OK, but not fantastic 🙂 3. Live Free or Die Hard – Awesome! I love John McClane. … Read More

I walked in this morning after having been on vacation for 2 weeks and it feels good to be back (even though, when you have a Treo and a laptop, you’re never really on vacation). But the surprise I got when I walked in was that there was an original “crash” movie poster sitting on my desk. I have been ranting and raving about the “crash” poster that was upstairs in the theatre we meet in. So John spoke to the powers that be, and they gladly gave to me. (Many thanks to my peeps over at Cobb theatres) So … Read More

Casino Royale

Carey and I went to see Casino Royale last night (the latest Bond film for those unaware), and it was fantastic. The new Bond guy is great. I didn’t think I would like him. I thought Pierce Brosnan was a great cast to play 007 (Not that anyone can touch Sean Connery), but Daniel Craig delivered the goods. The story was well written, the cinematography and general look of the movie was fabulous. Anyway, if you’re looking for a movie that keeps you entertained and doesn’t wimp out after 90 minutes (which seems to be the trend these days with … Read More

Movie Review: The Da Vinci Code

First, let me say that I loved the book! I read it about 2 1/2 years ago when the book was just picking up steam. I obviously didn’t agree with the “Facts” of the book, but the story was engaging and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Dan Brown is a gifted writer who has a knack for writing books about conspiracy theories. So I saw the movie on Saturday night. While I thought the movie was OK, I felt as though Ron Howard removed all the teeth that the book had and it left you with … Read More
