The Superbowl means 1 thing to me (Especially when the Pats aren’t in it): it means that pitchers and catchers report for spring training in 11 days! Yes, sports fans, it means that in Florida there will be Spring Training Baseball in less than 1 month! Add the World Baseball Classic into the mix and you’ve got life as it should be! Life isn’t the same during the baseball off-season.
There’s only so many times I can watch my 2 DVD’s of the 2004 Baseball season (Well, that’s not really true). But the point is, I can’t wait until this season! The red Sox have put together a good team and have finally focused on pitching and defense. The Yankees, on the other hand have a very potent line-up, but their weakness looks like their pitching! I don’t think the Red Sox will score as many runs as they have over the last 3 years (Who by the way, led the AL in runs scored for each of those years). But they will also allow less runs.
The Red Sox will be playing 2 games in Fort Lauderdale against the dreadful Orioles (March 15th & 24th) during Spring training and then they will play 3 games against the Marlins during inter-league play on June 30 – July 2. I can’t wait!
